Old Mod Cqd Mark V Stinger Knife Reviews
- #1
I have a question.
I have a 2005 make new Modernistic Mark V Dwayne Deiter designed pocketknife.
This was a 2005 Pocketknife of the year if my retention is correct.
Information technology's A-2 tool steel and all fabricated in America and not the foreign made crap that came later.
It'south one of the most wicked looking and fealing knives I have ever held.
I have never used it, nor sharpened it nor cutting with it. It'due south a virgin.
Still have everything that came with information technology.
It has a Bladetec holster for it made specifically for it.
I'm considering selling it but have no idea what it'due south worth.
I used a beer canteen and a 308 circular next to it to show you size of the knife.
Any help would exist appreciated.

I would think (Don't know) that winning "The knife of the year" and the fact that it's no longer made would play a office in making information technology worth more than. Plus it's much larger than this version.
But thanks for your imput.
Whatever more takes on this?

Squeamish pocketknife.</div></div>
Thats absurd Shank. Thanks for digging that upwards.
Some will recall it's overkill but homo information technology's made well.
It's non like the junk fantasy knives that china has pumped out.
Those cheapies and fantasy knives have soured many on larger blades.
I'yard not an operator, I but similar well made stuff and sometimes I don't want a little blade,... sometimes I practice.
As with many of usa in America, most of united states don't fight or get to war but we also like the tools of war and all the same have many things in our arsenal that nosotros may never utilize.. I bet most reading this could say the same.... Even though movies like Rambo inspired some huge knives and for nigh reasons they are impracticable.
I nonetheless dearest that big ole knife, and ane of those made by a master knife builder would be awesome.
I think Sam Bowie would have agreed as well.
I love America

Sometimes they get equally high as $400.00 but I've seen several sit and finish without a bid for $200.00 too.
That model knife was offered with the selection of a obviously blade or a partially serrated blade and in the blackness finish (common) and the early (and long discontinued) bead nail matte stainless.
I sold the #3 ATAC matte stainless on eBay about 2 months ago for $685.00. At that aforementioned time, I had a black Marking 5 non even catch a starting bid at $300.00.
The Marker V was too offered in a express edition presentation set that came with the Mark IV "Stinger" (also offered with the same finishes and blade profiles) that was serialized and very rare.
The Mark V, forth with a limited number of automatics, were still being sold afterwards last year'southward SHOT testify, though production had ceased and was express to stock remaining. About two weeks after the show, the stock was exhausted (gotta honey the 50% off cards Blackhawk passed out during the show).
Mod doesn't actually fifty-fifty exist anymore - according to what I was told, Mike Janich (former brand director for MOD/Blackhawk & major knife guy) left Blackhawk and took what remained of Modernistic with him. Blackhawk retained a couple designs (Mark I & Ii) but those are no longer made in the USA and carry the "Type E" designation.
If you're planning on selling it, PM me.

I remember my buddy wants to buy it but I will let you know if he doesn't. I like the knife and thats the reason I bought it. It'southward non a gimmicky knife pattern only the features just work and the mode this thing feels in the hand is awesome. I have owned and held many knives in my hands and have used many in different ventures and I hate when a pocketknife doesn't feel right in the hand when you need to use it. This Mark V is probably one of the best I have held or handled. It's only a well made tool.

That made me chuckle near the rappelling role.. Would we actually trust a knife to help united states of america slide downwards a cablevision or rope?
I think not.....I promise not.
I use climbing and condom gear all the time, in fact today.
I would pay to see someone dauntless enough to try that.
Thanks for that.
Hows the blade holdup when it comes to belongings an edge and sharpening?
Some Bucks I take seen and owned exercise quite well and some of the newer generations suck.
